Happy October! Wow, can you believe that it’s already the last three months of the year? Time sure flew by this year, and I can’t believe it’s going to be Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas soon! Although things are starting to get a little more stressful at work, since it’s the start of our busy season, I’m also super excited about the holiday season because this time of year always puts me in a good mood!

As with every month’s end, I’m here to wrap up some of my favorites, so without further ado, let’s get started on some of my favorites from this past September!

Laneige Water Bank Eye Gel

No matter how much I try to deny it, I’m in my mid-twenties now, and signs of my age are finally starting to show  The most apparent sign of aging are the fine lines and dryness around my eye area; in the past, my foundation and base makeup never used to crease around my eye area, but I’ve been noticing recently, that this tends to happen on a daily basis.

While I’ve been using the Clinique eye cream occasionally, I ultimately felt like the eye cream was way too rich for everyday use. This is when I stumbled on Laneige’s Water Bank Eye Gel. I’ve always been such a big fan of Laneige’s products, especially their Water Sleeping Mask, so I knew this eye cream was probably not going to disappoint. And I couldn’t have been more correct!

Formulated with the same superior technology for accelerated hydration, this eye cream is super refreshing and quick absorbing, leaving my eyes instantly rejuvenated and awakened. I also love how this eye cream boasts micro-sized particles of hydro-ionized mineral water that gently penetrates the sensitive eye area, preventing it from dryness and protecting it from external aggressors. I’ve been using this eye cream for about a month now, and I really like how I look more refreshed and radiant! I’m definitely going to continue using this eye cream for the remainder of the year to see if there are any drastic improvements on the fine lines, but so far, I’m sold because it’s been making my eye area feel so refreshed!

Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Crème

If you’ve been following my beauty journey for a while now, then you know that I’ve been switching back and forth between a variety of moisturizers this past year. In the past, I used to religiously use my Clinique moisturizer, but since I’m in my mid-twenties now, I really thought I should start using products that target more of my concerns. From Fresh to Ole Henrikson to belif, I’ve been through quite a few brands this year, but I’ve never tried an all-natural, vegan product.

Initially, this is what drew me in to this moisturizer from Herbivore! The Pink Cloud hydrates and smooths the skin, and I really like how dewy my skin looks afterward. Rather than feeling “greasy” or “oily,” this cream is fast absorbing, so it leaves my skin feeling refreshed yet moisturized without being sticky at all! I also love how it’s made with rosewater, aloe water, white tea, and rice extracts! These natural ingredients have really been hydrating and soothing my skin gently, and I’ve noticed that the redness around my cheeks and nose, especially recently since it’s gotten colder, have been reduced.

On a side note though – since this product is made from all natural ingredients, it’s not the most fragrant smell in the world. In fact, it might be a little too “herbal” for a lot of people, but after initial application, the smell wears away, and you won’t smell it at all!

Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation in Porcelain

As many of you know, I’m a huge fan of the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation, and on days when I’m not wearing foundation, I usually opt for my Korean BB creams or cushions, since they look the most natural. While I do love all of the products I use, they can get a little pricey, but I’m willing to pay for high-quality makeup.

This past month, though, I was introduced to the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation by a friend that was visiting from abroad; apparently, this foundation is all the rage back in her home country because it’s so affordable and also very natural-looking.

The beauty junkie in me had to try it for myself, so I’ve been using this for the past two weeks, and I can honestly say that I’m quite impressed! For only about $5 (USD), this foundation is super affordable, and it really makes my skin look so naturally flawless! The formula is super lightweight and has a matte finish, giving the appearance of poreless coverage, but in such a natural way.

Of course, just like any other foundation, it does need some touching up throughout the day, but at the price I’m paying, I’d definitely say that this foundation far exceeded my expectations!

Another side note – also about the smell – this one is very strong when you first open the bottle. It almost smells like nail polish or paint… But once you get past that initial shock, the scent goes away, and I can’t smell it on my face throughout the day.

ZA Bye-Bye Shine Powder in Light 1

Another makeup favorite of mine from this month is definitely this face powder from ZA. Initially, I didn’t really have any expectations for the brand, since I picked this up at a local Watsons in Tainan upon realizing that I left my powder at the house we were staying at in more northern part of Taiwan. I only used it for about a day in Taiwan before I returned to my normal face powder, but I brought this back with me, and it was sitting in my makeup drawer ever since. Last month, though, I ran out of my favorite Innisfree powder, and my usual restocking order hadn’t shipped from Korea yet, so I dug around my drawer and found this.

For some reason, my face has been a lot oilier than usual (I think I’m going through some hormonal change, since I’m in my mid-twenties now), but I’ve noticed that I need to touch up my base makeup throughout the day, but I never had to do this before  This powder, though, is literally a miracle worker! It’s been helping my makeup stay matte longer, and I’ve been loving the fact that I don’t need to touch up as often!

Asia is more humid year round, so I think that’s why this powder’s mattifying ability is some of the best I’ve ever seen. For only about $10 (USD), I think this powder is well worth its price! I’m definitely going to try to find some more of these compact and have it shipped over to the US!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion in SPF 50

And of course, I have one more skincare favorite, and that’s none other than the Hydro Boost Water Gel Sunscreen! While most sunscreens are a bit drying on the skin, this new one from Neutrogena is definitely one of my favorites because the water-light formula leaves skin feeling hydrated and refreshed. Despite the lighter formula, this sunscreen is still water-resistant, but at the same time, I love how this non-greasy lotion layers invisibly under makeup! I’ve been using this on a daily basis, and I really like how light it feels! It’s the perfect sunscreen for the fall and winter because it’s lightweight but still protects against UVA/UVB rays.

And that sums up my favorites for this month! What were some of your favorites this past September? Let me know in the comments because I always love hearing from all of you!
