4 Ways to Instantly Elevate Your Fall Outfit

I can’t believe it! It’s finally fall! Well, it’s “officially” fall, but honestly, in LA, it still feels a little warm haha!

I’m not letting the temperatures stop me from embracing autumn, though, and that’s evident in the way I’ve been dressing! While I can’t exactly wear coats on a daily basis or walk around in over-the-knee boots just yet, I still can’t stop dressing for one of my favorite seasons!

Read on to see how I’m embracing some of this season’s most iconic fashion staples, and how I instantly elevate my looks with the simplest attention to details in order to create the perfect autumn wardrobe!

1. Stripes, Stripes, Stripes

If there’s ever an award for the most timeless print/pattern, I’d definitely say the winner is stripes (though polka dots is definitely one of the top contenders as well)! There’s nothing more iconic than these horizontal or vertical lines, and they instantly add a visual depth to an outfit.

Depending on what kind of look you’re going for, you can switch things up and try either horizontal or vertical stripes. In my experience, horizontal stripes are more classic, and I usually opt for sweaters with this directional print. If you want to elevate your outfit, though, vertical stripes really stand out, especially in starkly contrasting colors! There’s nothing quite like up and down lines to make you look even taller, elongating your entire silhouette, don’t you agree?

2. The Color Red

Despite trending fall colors such as dark mustard and emerald green that are taking the fashion industry by storm, an autumn palette always, always, always contains the color red, whether it’s in the form of a bright jewel tone or a dark maroon hue. There’s nothing more timeless than this rich velvety color, and I can’t seem to ever get enough of it too! Red also embraces this notion of elegance, class, and confidence, don’t you agree?

3. Floppy Wide Brim Hat

Other than paying attention to outfit details, it’s important to not push accessories to the back of your mind because accessorizing is the easiest way to elevate just about any ensemble. During the fall, there’s nothing that I like more than a floppy hat, especially one that’s made of a suede or felt fabric because they look extra cozy and perfect for the season. Plus, hats add a touch of mystery to the overall vibe of your ensemble, making it perfect for that femme fatale look that’s both alluring yet feminine.

4. Pointed Toe Booties

And of course, who can forget booties? In my opinion, they’re some of the most timeless shoes in the world because they work all year round, and they’re super easy to style! Since I live in LA, it gets way too hot to wear booties throughout the summer, but once the weather cools down (even just a little bit), I immediately dig all of my booties out from the back of my shoe closet, so I can start wearing them on a rotating basis.

These pointed toe booties have been my favorite this autumn because the pointed toe visually helps to elongate my legs, giving the illusion of a leaner silhouette! Also, the maroon suede is absolutely perfect for the season, don’t you think?
