If there’s one article of clothing that I can’t get enough of, it’s definitely… dresses! While I love a good pair of jeans and probably can’t live without denim either, dresses will always hold a special place in my heart because it’s such a timeless wardrobe staple.
Although we’re slowly transitioning into fall, I’m still not going to give up my love for dresses, and if you want to know why, keep on reading!
1. They Work for Literally Every Situation
Contrary to popular belief, dresses aren’t just worn for formal events anymore! While I do love a classic dress and heels look, this versatile piece can be worn for so many different occasions, don’t you agree?
If you’ve been following me for awhile now, then you know that I love to wear my dresses with sneakers for casual looks almost all the time! It’s such a fun way to style dresses, especially since the sneakers help to add an effortless and youthful vibe to the whole outfit.
As we move into the colder months, I love pairing dresses with booties or boots for a more weather-appropriate look that’s not only functional, but more refined as well. No matter how you decide to style your dress, they will literally work for every situation!
2. They’re Very Easy to Wear (and Pack)
Another reason why I love dresses is because they’re so easy to wear (and pack)! Whenever I’m stumped on what to wear, I always turn to my collection of dresses because it’s a one-piece, so that means you only have to pick out one thing from your wardrobe, and you’ve instantly got an outfit!
The same goes for traveling with dresses – not only does it save so much space in your luggage, dresses are also easy because you don’t have to think about which top to pair with which pair of jeans, shorts, or skirt!
3. They’re Flattering for Every Body Type
And of course, one of the main reasons I love dresses is because they’re flattering for just about every body type! Depending on what you want to highlight, you can opt for dresses that show off some of the best qualities of your body, hiding areas you’re not as confident about.
As many of you know, I’m a bit self-conscious about my thighs, so I always opt for a certain length of slightly flared, a-line dresses because they hide the thickest parts of my thighs and highlight the thinnest parts of my legs. For those of you who are a little more self-conscious of your middle, dresses with an empire waist can help to accentuate a thinner waist, drawing attention to the areas you’re most confident about!
