When you think of fragrances, the first thing that comes to mind is perfume. It wasn’t until recently that I was introduced to another form of fragrance – oils. While not conventional, fragrance oils are revolutionary because they not only offer long lasting wear, they also truly embrace the concept of less is more. With just a few drops on pulse points, such as wrists, sides of your neck, inside of your elbows, back of the knees, and breastbone, scents can last throughout the day, emitting an air of subtle confidence and sensuality that can’t achieved by just any article of clothing or accessory. This is why I was so excited to be introduced to Riddle Oil, a company that specializes not only in botanical skincare and body oils, but also in fragrance oils! Free of parabens, phthalates, and formaldehyde, Riddle Oil’s fragrances are also non-toxic, cruelty-free, and vegan. Over the past month, I was able to try seven of their most popular scents, and today, I’m going to share my thoughts on these different fragrances, as well as my overall thoughts on scented oils!
“A clean, subtle amber oil with a light musky base note. This unique oil smells different on everyone and is considered a pheromone scent.” This is one of Riddle Oil’s most popular scents because it’s supposed to be a direct reflection of your personal scent. Made only with base notes, the Original scent is clean and fresh, accentuating your natural fragrance. This is one of my favorites because it’s soft, subtle, yet still distinct, making it perfect for the spring or summer.
“The spicy cardamom and sandalwood are the most present notes in this scent. Santal has been described as bold, crisp, and woodsy.” Though I don’t normally gravitate towards spicier scents, opting for more floral tones and sweet notes instead, I still like this crisp sandalwood and cadamom scent. The woodsy notes are really apparent in this oil, and it really reminds me of Christmastime, which as many of you know, is my favorite holiday of all time! With really subtle hints of peppermint, this is the perfect scent for colder days!
“This scent immediately makes you smile. The amber, peach, and coconut notes lead this scent, making a yummy and sweet fragrance that is hard to not love and find playfully exciting.” As many of you know, I’m not the biggest fan of coconut scented products, so I was definitely a little hesitant to try this particular oil. After trying it on, though, I couldn’t get enough because the hints of coconut were so subtle that I could only focus on the sweet scents of amber and peach. This feminine fragrance reminds me those early spring days when flowers first start blooming!
“Bright, fresh, and clean. Orange blossom and lemon combine to create an instant energy boost. The rose and ylang ylang create a confident feeling, making this a great scent for uplifting the spirit.” The “Poppy” scent is no doubt my absolute favorite in this whole series! I’ve always leaned more towards floral scents, especially as I got older, because I find these fragrances to be so timeless, classic, yet feminine. While I love sweet scents as well, I think floral notes are much more wearable on an everyday basis because they’re subtle, yet elegant. The blend of orange blossoms and lemon in “Poppy” makes it the perfect combination of fresh and sweet, and the rose notes also bring out that subtle femininity that I embody in my everyday fashion.
“Seductive and sophisticated, this scent has deep rose and leather notes. A truly classic and refined scent.” Of all of the scents that I’ve tried, I find “Ex” to be the strongest. As I typically lean towards more subtle fragrances, “Ex” definitely jarred my senses due to its deeper, more seductive scents. With more sophisticated and refined notes, this isn’t a fragrance that I would actively reach for since I’m not yet at the age yet, but it’s still nonetheless memorable and sentimental, staying true to its name.
“Indulge in this natural aphrodisiac made with warm vanilla, sensual amber, and sandalwood. Bring out the sexiest version of you.” Though “Poppy” was my unexpected favorite, I knew from the start that I would love “Voyeur.” My signature scent is warm vanilla and amber, simply because I the blend of sweet and sensual is my favorite, as it embodies my personal style perfectly.
“This subtle, high-quality Egyptian musk is great for those who want a pleasing, soft-natured scent.” I was very surprised by how soft and subtle this scent was, since I’ve always expected muskier scents to be a bit stronger in nature, but “Sphinx” is definitely very subtle and clean, making it the perfect fragrance for an off-duty day.
And that summarizes some of Riddle Oil’s most popular scents! I’m so happy that i was introduced to these beautiful new fragrances just as we’re preparing to shift into colder seasons! Which one of the above fragrance oils do you want to try the most? And what’re some of your signature scents? Let me know in the comments because I always love hearing from you all!
