We’ve been graced with spring for about a week now, and there’s nothing that captures the romantic vibe of the season more than an effortless bohemian style, complete with feminine lace, cozy knits, rustic tones, and draping layers.
One of the things I love the most about bohemian ensembles is how easy it is to layer, making it the perfect way to dress for the transitional weather, don’t you think?
That’s why, today, I’ll be sharing with you 3 simple ways to add just the right touch of bohemian chic to just about any outfit, so you can also become a master of the transitional ensemble!
1. Pay Attention to the Right Color Palette
When people think of spring, they immediately think of a more delicate color palette. But if you’re trying to achieve a more bohemian look, then you’d really want to put those pastels down and reach for some rustic tone instead, since they reflect nature a little bit more, making it more “earthy.”
Varying shades of brown, ivory, camel, and tan are my favorite because they embody that “nature-y” vibe so well, making it perfect for achieving that bohemian chic look. Olive, gray, navy, and of course, classic black and white, are also great options, but be sure to always ground your outfit with a earthy tone as the main color!
2. Add Cozy and Loose Layers
Bohemian ensembles are never complete without cozy and loose layers, whether that be with lace, knits, or prints. Since the weather is still a bit chilly, I’ve been opting for cozy loose knits and blanket scarfs.
I’ve been really loving this poncho-style blanket scarf from SSUMJ because it’s super cozy and warm, making it perfect for this transitional weather! Not only is it thick enough to work for a chillier night, it’s also light enough for slightly warmer days! Plus, the soft ivory color just embodies that bohemian chic vibe so well, don’t you think?
Aside from blanket scarves, some other layering pieces like loose fitting cardigans or off-shoulder sweaters are also good choices! Plus, they’re also pieces that you can wear well in to the warmer months, as well as during the fall too, after summer is over!
3. Don’t Forget to Add Accessories
And last but not least, never underestimate the power of accessories! While this outfit may have already embodied that bohemian chic vibe well before the addition of it, the hat just seems to pull everything together, don’t you think?
Aside from hats, accessories like shoes, bags, and jewelry can really help to elevate the look even more. Some of the other simple ways to dress up a bohemian ensemble include gold-toned layering necklaces, feather earrings, leather cross-body bags, and suede booties because they’re so easy to throw on, and it instantly helps to add dimension and visual interest to the overall look.
