I know, I know, it’s still the middle of February… But in LA, it definitely hasn’t been as cold lately (or maybe it’s just me because I’m too excited for spring)!
The weather is definitely starting to slowly transition, with still-chilly mornings and nights, but warmer afternoons, so it’s been getting a little trickier to pick out an outfit before leaving the house! That’s why I’ve come up with a foolproof formula for getting dressed in these tight situations! Scroll down to get these tips/tricks, so you can look effortlessly chic while still staying cozy!
1. Boxy Sweater
I’m absolutely in love with boxier sweaters and tops! There’s something about the looser silhouette that just looks so effortless when loosely tucked in to jeans or shorts! Plus, when chosen in a slightly cropped fit, this looser sweater can even bring elements of street style chic to your ensemble!
2. Cut-Off Denim Shorts
Nothing says LA more than cut-off denim shorts, right? I love the raw hem because it looks so effortless and laid back, embodying that relaxed Cali girl vibe so subtly. If it’s still slightly cold where you’re at, you can opt for a pair of tights under the shorts, like I did, for a slightly cozier look that also adds another layer to the whole ensemble!
3. Relaxed Baseball Cap (or More Commonly Known as the Dad Hat)
I know the “dad hat” has been so popular for the past year or so, and I can’t believe I’m so late on the train! I’m loving this relaxed fit so much, mainly because traditional baseball caps always feel a little large on my head, despite pulling the straps tight at the back. The new relaxed fit seems to be more fitting for my head shape, and I love how it adds an effortless and casual vibe to the whole ensemble!
4. Slip-On Sneakers
And of course, last but definitely not least is a good pair of slip-on sneakers! While a pair of kicks can definitely pair so well with this ensemble for a sporty ensemble, I find that slip-on sneakers really help to pull the look together with a more refined street style look, don’t you think?
