Happy September! While I’m so happy that it’s almost fall (yay to chillier weather, more layers, and crisp autumn leaves), I really can’t believe August is already over! Where did the time go? There are only four more months left of 2017, and I’m not really ready for that yet haha! Are you?
As with every month’s end, though, here is a round-up of some of the things that have caught my eye! Enjoy and let me know what were some if your favorites this past August! 🙂
First up is this exfoliating peel gel from Boscia. I’ve always loved exfoliating, so every time I find a new exfoliating product, I get super excited! The thing I love about exfoliation is that it gets skin super clean, so that it’s ready to absorb all of the skincare products that you apply afterwards.
This was one my first times using an exfoliant peeling gel with volcanic sand, so it was definitely a very cool experience. You apply it on to dry skin like any other exfoliant, and then massage the peeling gel in to the skin in circular motions for gentle exfoliation. Once the outer layer of debris is physically removed, the glycolic acid penetrates in to the skin as a chemical facial peel, providing further exfoliation and removal of dirt, oil, and impurities from pores with activated black charcoal. I loved how natural ingredients like volcanic sand and black charcoal act as amazing natural exfoliants that offer a deep and thorough cleaning experience! 😀
Up next is another skincare favorite. If you’ve been following my blog for awhile now, then you’ll know that I’ve been a longtime fan of Clinique’s Moisture Surge Intense for a few years now, and though I love the moisturizer so much, I also feel that it’s time for me to change up my skincare routine, especially since I’m in my mid-twenties now.
Lately, I’ve been trying lots of different moisturizers so I can find one that I really like before committing to the full-size, and this month, one of my favorites is this ultra-lightweight gel-cream from Dr. Jart+!
It really helps my skin maintain balanced moisture levels, but at the same time, it also helps my skin look visibly more firm and healthy too, which is a big perk! Another big plus? The cream is made from Belgium hot spring water, so the natural barrier complex aids in expelling impurities from pores while moisturizing, providing both soothing and antibacterial benefits 🙂 I’m definitely keeping this one at a high spot on the list, but I’d love to try a few more different brands before I make a choice! What moisturizers are your favorites?
Just like I’m trying to change up the moisturizer in my daily skincare routine, I’ve also been looking to switch up my cleanser as well. I’ve been trying a lot of different ones lately, and this month, the one that I find myself reaching for again and again is this Greek Yoghurt cleanser from Korres.
This luxurious cleanser is actually made with real Greek yogurt, so it’s rich in proteins, minerals, and vitamins to gently cleanse while nourishing, leaving skin soft and supple, and reducing redness. Its formula also includes amaranth seed extracts to sooth the skin, and calming honeysuckle also provides antibacterial benefits.
Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème Lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (216 )
Moving away from skincare, here are some of my makeup favorites for the month. As Chanel once said, “If you’re sad, add more lipstick, and attack.”
Though my sentiments about lipstick may not quite mirror Chanel’s just yet, I’ve been really experimental in my lipstick/lip tint game these past few months (if you haven’t noticed from my favorites)!
And though I’ve played around with so many beautiful shades lately, I somehow always find myself gravitating back to colors from the pink/rose family hahaha! And this month, one of my favorite lip colors have been this baked rose color from Marc Jacobs! There’s just something about this feminine and soft color that appeals to me. Plus – it’s super flattering on my skin tone 🙂
Urban Decay Vice Liquid Lipstick in Amulet
And yet again, another matte rose lippie 😉 Hahaha I just can’t seem to get enough of them! This time, though, this favorite is a little different because it’s the Vice Liquid Lipstick from Urban Decay!
I’ve tried a few other liquid lipsticks this past summer, including Kat Von D’s and Tarte’s, and I’ve been really loving the consistency of the product and how easy and convenient it is ti apply.
Liquid lipsticks are almost kind of like lip tints (in my opinion), but rather than being sheer, they’re intensely pigmented and matte. This Urban Decay liquid lipstick is also super lightweight, so it’s really comfortable to wear. Another big plus – the formula is so long-lasting!
And last but not least is this mascara from Too Faced! 😀 I’m sure many of you girls have heard about this intensely black, volumizing mascara since it seems to be a cult-favorite! With an hourglass-shaped brush that separates, coats, and curls each lash to voluptuous perfection, this mascara’s extra stiff bridtles help to maximize the formula. I find that one coat helps to make my lashes look very full and defined for a more “natural” look, while two to three coats give it that dramatic effect 🙂
And that sums up my favorites for August! 🙂 Let me know what were some of your favorites for this month in the comments! And are you as excited about fall as I am?
