If you’ve been paying attention to the runways these past few seasons, then you’ll know one of the most coveted trends for Spring/Summer 2017 was the statement sleeve.
From bell sleeves, to the ultra long and oversized, there are so many variations of this trend, but what we can all agree on is the universal fascination with this modern take on elements characteristic of the Romantic periods in fashion history.
I recently got this off-shoulder cinched sleeve top from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I’ve been loving it so much! With an off-shoulder neckline, exaggeratedly wide cuff proportions, and cinched sleeves, I’m obsessed with how this top plays with shape and size for a modern spin on statement sleeves. A big plus – the little bow-tie details on the sleeves are absolutely adorable in a subtle way, don’t you think?
And though this top sports a more voluminous and shapeless silhouette, I was able to elevate the whole ensemble by pairing it with high-waisted short shorts for a chic look that highlights both the waist and legs 😉
