July 2017 Favorites

Can you believe it’s the last day of July already? Time really is flying, and it seems like it’s not going to slow down anytime soon!

I can’t wait for August, though, which is the month that I think of as the peak of summer! I’ve been loving the longer days and warmer nights, and I know August is going to be even more promising in all that summer has to bring (like endless lemonades on the beach, ice cream cones on the boardwalk, and late night talks with the stars above us)! πŸ™‚

As with every month’s end, here is a round up of my favorites, so without further ado, let’s begin!

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint in PK002 Cherry Hot Pink

First up is this gorgeous cherry hot pink lip tint from Etude House! If you’ve been a longtime follower of my blog, then these lip tints shouldn’t be new to you, as I’ve expressed my love for the orange, red, and pale pink versions of this same tint for as long as I can remember!

One of the reasons I love these lip tints so much is because they last forever, not to mention the color payoff is amazing! The different shades are all so vibrant, making them perfect for the summer, and the hot pink one has been one of my favorites this past month because it just looks so youthful and playful!

Another reason I love Etude House’s products is because of the packaging! There’s just something about their feminine colors, princess-like details, and girlish flair that makes me feel like a high school student again!

Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream

One of my favorite skincare staples this past month has been this rose face cream from Fresh! I’ve used the Fresh Rose Floral Toner before (as I’ve reviewed here), and while I love it so much, I’ve never really looked at Fresh’s other products, aside from their Sugar Lip Treatments (which, as you know, I love as well)!

This time, though, I received a sample of this face cream from Sephora, and since I just ran out of my usual Clinique moisturizer, I decided to give it a try, and I can definitely say that I don’t regret it! πŸ™‚

The lightweight gel-cream is infused with soothing rosewater and nourishing rose flower oil to deliver intense 24 hour moisture for “petal-soft skin.” The formula also consists of hyaluronic acids to help increase moisture for deep hydration, boosting skin elasticity. What I love most about the formula, though, is the rosewater that’s infused in the cream because it soothes the skin! In the summer, my skin becomes more susceptible to breakouts and allergic reactions, so this soothing face cream has definitely been super good for my sensitive skin!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick

Next up is another lip product that I’ve loving, and it’s none other than this long-lasting, highly-pigmented liquid lipstick from Kat Von D. Although the name of the product deems it a lipstick, I feel that the smooth, matte finish makes it very lightweight and comfortable, so it doesn’t really feel like a lipstick at all. The shade that I have is Lovesick, which is a mauve nude, a color that I find super natural and effortless.

A big plus – the formula is infused with Vitamin E and sunflower seeds, so it glides over lips as a gloss before drying to a matte finish, meaning it’s good even for lips that are on the drier side!

Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1 Dry Shampoo

With the summer heat and humidity, my hair has definitely been flatter than it normally is, which is why I’ve been loving this dry shampoo from Drybar! This airy spray helps to create instant texture, adding both volume and body to my hair for a tousled look that’s perfect for the summer!

I’ve been a fan of Amika’s dry shampoo for awhile now (as seen here), and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this one from Drybar as well, since it really helps to amplify flat hair for intense volume and fullness, which is something that I desperately need, especially in the summer months! πŸ™‚

tarte Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit

And yet another favorite lip product… I’ve been loving this ultra-pigmented, lightweight liquid lipstick from tarte as well! Hahaha I know, I know, I have so many lip favorites this month! But I just can’t help myself! πŸ™‚ There’s just something about the warmer months that makes me a little more daring in terms of lip colors!

This tarte lip paint was actually a part of my birthday gift from Sephora this year, and I love the dusty rose color so much! Not only is this color perfect for my everyday nude lip, I love how creamy this matte liquid formula is. The color is bold and dramatic, yet not too over-the-top, so it’s still suitable for everyday wear.

What I love the most about this lip paint, though, is how luxurious and velvety the texture is because it just seems like such a sophisticated yet effortless lip product, perfect for the minimalist in me! Little tip – rather than applying with the paint brush wand that it comes with, I prefer to apply it with a lip brush first, then I use my fingers to blur out the edges just a little for a softer and more subtle look! πŸ™‚

Formula X Prime XCEL Base Coat

And last but definitely not least is this base coat from Formula X! I’ve always had very fragile nails, and the condition sometimes gets really bad due to the fact that I almost always have my nails done (since I have to take outfit photos very frequently).

I’ve gotten my way around this with the clever use of both base and top coats, and while I’ve always been an avid fan of Sally Hansen’s formula, I decided to give this Formula X one a try, since it was on sale at Sephora last time. I can definitely say that I’m not disappointed! Not only does it do the job of protecting my nails, I’m also in love with the cute packaging! πŸ™‚

And that wraps up my favorites from July! What were some of your favorite products this past month? Let me know in the comments because I always love hearing from all of you!

    • Thank you so much for stopping by Christine πŸ™‚ And yes, I actually haven’t really found the “perfect” dry shampoo yet too, but this one isn’t too bad, and I can see myself at least finishing it haha! Glad you enjoyed these faves! Have a great August too ❀
