Oh summer, summer, summer – one of my favorite seasons! What’s not to love about cotton candy sunset skies, sand between our toes, and ice cold lemonades? One of my favorite things about summer, though, is sun-kissed, beachy waves!

If you’ve been following my blog for awhile now, then you’ll know that I tend to like to style my hair in natural, beachy waves all year long. Maybe it’s the inner California girl in me, but there’s just something about this effortless hairstyle that resonates with my laid back, bohemian style so much.

In the summer, though, it can some times be a little troublesome to use heat styling tools to achieve this look, but with the help of Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day In-Shower Styler, in addition to the Living Proof’s Perfect Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner, I’m able to achieve air-dried waves with no heat styling at all!

At first, I was a little skeptical of this in-shower product, but after trying it a few times, I’ve slowly grown accustomed to it. The part of the product that takes getting used to is definitely the “leave-in” part, since the formula and ingredients are activated when hair is lightly rinsed so that excess product is removed, leaving behind only what is needed for air-dry styling.

Since I have super straight hair, I’ve found that the best way to achieve light waves is by letting my hair air-dry about seventy percent before I braid it or put it up in to a bun, so that I get maximum body and volume. With the product massaged thoroughly in to the strands, as hair dries, it contracts and enhances natural waves. This in turn makes hair appear full and voluminous, but at the same time, the lightweight conditioners make each strand appear so shiny and soft!

Although this in-shower styler definitely creates more volume and slight waves that are enough for everyday wear, I would say that if you’re looking for fully styled hair, a heat styling tool is still very much required. This hair styling product is good for those who have straight to slightly wavy hair, as it adds just enough body and texture to hair to make it look effortlessly styled.

One of the reasons why I loved this product so much is because it gave my usually pin-straight, flat, and fine hair body and volume without too much effort, which is perfect for weekday use. Not only do I get to save time in not drying my hair at night after I shower, since this product is activated by air-drying, I also get to sleep in a little more in the mornings since I don’t have to wake up early to do my hair anymore!
