Happy April! It’s finally spring! I know it was technically spring two weeks ago, but to me, it never really feels official until March is over, since it really starts to heat up around April and May in LA!
March has definitely been a very busy month, but of course, I always have time to round up some of my favorites! So without further ado, here are some of my favorite fashion and beauty items from this past month! 🙂
YSL Monogram Saint Laurent Chain Wallet in Powder Grain de Poudre Textured Mateaasse Leather
First up is this beautiful YSL chain wallet that my boyfriend got for me for our anniversary! Not only do I love the perfect compact size and structure of it, the textured leather and gold monogram elevates it for such a classy and sophisticated look. What I love most about this clutch, though, is the sentimental value behind it. I’m not really someone who normally buys name brand items, choosing instead to pick items based on style and quality versus branding. My boyfriend really wanted to show his support for me and my blogging journey, though, so he decided to surprise me with this YSL chain wallet. It was such a sweet gesture, and I can’t be happier for all of the constant love and support that he showers me with 🙂
BareMinerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm in Plumberry Pop
A lip product that I’ve been obsessed with is this lip oil-balm from BareMinerals. This is one of the first few products that I’ve tried that are so heavily oil-based, with a formula that drenches your lips in decadent hydration. Plus, the pigmentation is super intense! I love how luscious and passionate the color loops with just a few soft dabs. The melt-in moisture, passion fruit seed oil, and Vitamin E provide hydration and nourishment to lips while offering a long-lasting and vibrant color stain. I wore this gorgeous Plumberry Pop to my cousin’s wedding last month, and everyone loved the color so much! The rich pinkish-lavender color isn’t something I typically wear, so the slightly darker and vampier color definitely gave me a different look from my usual pinks and nudes.
Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment in Rose
I’ve been a big fan of the Fresh lip treatments ever since I got my first sample from Sephora two years ago, but I always found them slightly overpriced. Just recently, though, Sephora was giving away some of these lip treatments as a part of their rewards program, so of course, I just had to get one! Aside from the blend of nourishing oils, this lip treatment also includes meadowfoam and black current oils to help maintain hydration levels for supple, healthy-looping lips. With grapeseed oil that’s rich in antioxidants, and Vitamin C and E to provide protection from free radicals, this lip treatment moisturizes, protects, and smooths lips with rule sugar to deliver delectable and dependable moisture. Aside from all of the practical benefits of this lip treatment, the beautiful rose shade is also what made me fall in love with it because the color is so subtle, it makes lips look so natural yet pretty!
Bobbi Brown Lip Color in Sandwash Pink
I promise this past month hasn’t been totally dedicated to lip colors, but I really couldn’t believe all of the beautiful colors that I found and loved in March! For those of you who’ve been following my blog for some time now, you all know that I’ve never really been a lipstick girl, preferring to stick to lip stains and colored lip balms because they look more natural and subtle. This Bobbi Brown lip color, though totally changed the game for me. Though it’s semi-matte, this rich, full-coverage lipstick is enriched with Vitamins C and E and beeswax-infused formulas to moisturize and comfort lips. Featuring a brown/nude base, this lipstick is super wearable, especially in this sandy pink color that almost replicates lips’ natural colors exactly. I love how subtle yet luxurious it feels, and this classy lip color is definitely a very suitable choice for the office! Feminine yet sophisticated, a little flirty yet completely refined.
FYI – if you’re not already a part of Sephora’s Beauty Insider program, you should definitely join because every purchase earns you points, which you can then exchange for free gifts, like I did with the Fresh Lip Treatment and the Bobbi Brown Lip Color. There are multiple occasions throughout the year that offer double, triple, or even quadruple points, and it really adds up pretty quickly! Plus, Sephora updates their rewards bazaar every Tuesday and Thursday, so this also presents you with a great opportunity to try out some new cult favorites that you’ve heard about but haven’t had the chance to really experiment with!
If you’ve been following my blog for awhile now, you’ll know that I’m a big sucker for Victoria’s Secret and their travel-sized fragrances. Not only am I obsessed with their body sprays, I’ve also been really loving their rollerball perfumes lately. I love how convenient they are, since they’re so compact and fit inside your purse so easily. They’re the perfect little touch-up towards the middle of the day, and I always try to make sure I have one on me, just in case there’s a spontaneous happy hour after work.
Urban Outfitters Cat-Eye Sunglasses in White
And of course, since it was daylight time savings in March and clocks have been turned forward one hour, so we’ve been getting more daylight, both in the mornings and in the evenings, so having sunglasses on you at all times is a must. Though I believe in investing in quality sunglasses that offer ample UVA and UVB protection, I also love to purchase fun, trendy eyepieces from fast fashion retailers like Urban Outfitters or Forever 21 because it lets me play with trends before I commit to a quality pair.
A side note though – if you have sensitive eyes, experimenting with fast fashion sunglasses may not be for you, since they can negatively impact your vision. Another reason why I’m not that afraid to wear these types of non-branded eyepieces is because I wear contacts and my contacts are infused with UV protection already.
And that concludes my list of favorites for this month! I didn’t really have that much time to read this past March due to the many projects I had at work, so I had to overtime quite a bit, but hopefully April winds down a little. If you have any great book recommendations, don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments below because I can’t wait to get lost in a good tale again! Have a Happy Monday and April!
