It’s that time again, the time of warm weather, more sunshine, longer days, and fresh blooms… Yes, you guessed it right! It’s finally spring!
I’ve been a big fan of the nautical trend for a while now, but stripes haven’t always been categorized as an “all-year-round” kind of thing. However, I think stripes look great 365 days in the year, znd they’re especially appropriate for the warmer days, don’t you think?
I’ve been loving the nautical stripes of this loose top, and it looks even cuter when paired with a powdery blue mini skirt.
When picking stripes, I always lean towards smaller stripes because they’re more subtle and not too over-the-top. One key factor that made me gravitate towards this striped blouse is the deeper v-neckline. With a round-neck, stripes can be a little distracting because there’s no real focal point in the outfit, but a v-neck does a great job of breaking things up a little. Visually, it gives the ensemble more of a focus.
In a looser silhouette, this top is simply perfect for the transitional weather because the drapey sleeves aren’t too summery just yet, and the fabric is very light and breathable.
Paired with a powdery blue skirt, the ensemble is perfect for the early glimpses of spring that we’ve been getting in LA. It’s casual without being too laid-back, yet the flirty silhouette and girly blend of whites and pastels emulate such an innocent and pure vibe that is the literal symbolization of spring, making it the perfect springtime date ensemble, don’t you think?
