It may be spring, but I couldn’t help but sneak in just one last wintery look before LA decides to warm up for reals (because we know that once it hits April in California, there’s no going back to cooler weather until October or even November). Besides, the slightly lower temperatures this past weekend permitted it, so why not take advantage of it right? 😉
One of the biggest trends that I’ve been seeing time and time again, despite the seasons, has definitely been lace-up tops and blouses. For a transitional ensemble that incorporates elements of both winter and spring, I opted for this ribbed lace up sweater, which isn’t too thick, making it perfect for warmer days and chillier nights.
The deeper v-neckline makes it less wintry, yet the lace-up details act as a cover-up without going overboard, giving the look a subtle, understated sensuality.
Paired with a brighter skirt, the pop of color really helps to add some fun to this transitional ensemble. One of my favorite ways to wear skirts during days with varying temperatures is to pair them with tights. Not only does this streamline the whole silhouette for a preppier and more put-together look, tights also help to keep the legs warm, just in case it gets a little chillier at night.
Paired with ankle booties, this ensemble reminds a little of Gossip Girl and the prep school uniforms that Serena and Blair wore, don’t you think? 😉
