January 2017 Favorites

It’s officially the end of January! I can’t believe that the first month of 2017 is already over! Time really flies! This month, aside from recovering from all of the post-holiday blues, getting settled in for another year of work in the office, and setting New Year’s goals, both personal and work/blog-related, I was also able to get away from LA for just a few short days on a mini vacation to Cancun! It was also my birthday month, so I got to spend some quality time with some of my closest friends and family 🙂 All in all, January was good to me, and I’m ready for February!

And of course, as with every month’s end, here’s a round-up of some of my favorites from this past January! Hope you enjoy!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Medium Brown

First up is the much-buzzed-about Anastasia Brow Powder Duo! I know this has been raved about for the longest time by just about every YouTuber and blogger out together, and I’m pretty late to the game, but my best friend just got this for me this past Christmas, and I haven’t been able to stop using it. I really like how convenient it is and how natural it makes my eyebrows look. Plus, it’s super easy to use, so it really helps to save me a bit of time in the mornings!

NARS Blush in Goulue

When I first got this blush, it looked a little dark in the package, so I was a little hesitant to use it, since I’m pretty fair-skinned, and blushes always pop against my skin. After trying it, though, I love how it looks! It’s a nice shimmery pink, perfect for date night or a night out with girlfriends because it adds just the right hint of color to your cheeks!

Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 40

As some of you may have seen from my Instagram, I was in Cancun just a few weeks ago. It was definitely a pleasant change from all of the rain and chilliness that we’ve been getting in LA this past month, and I enjoyed every last bit of Cancun’s warm weather! 🙂 It just felt so good to be be able to get away from LA, even if it was for just a bit, and soak in the sun’s warm rays on a gorgeous beach! Since it was so sunny, I had to wear ample amounts of sunscreen. I typically use the Ultimate Sun Protection line from Shiseido, but since I was traveling, I brought a small travel-sized sunscreen instead, and I really loved it!

The Urban Environment line from Shiseido offers a feather-light texture, providing exceptional hydration while protecting against external aggressors such as UV rays, dryness, and air pollution for beautiful, healthy-looking skin. I love how my sin looks very smooth with this sunscreen, which is virtually invisible after application, leaving no glaring white cast. The best part is that it can be used as a makeup base for flawless base makeup as well, making for a very natural look!

Nature Republic Real Nature Mask Sheet in Green Tea

Of course, as some of you probably already know, sheet masks are one of my favorite skincare staples! I try to do one at least once a week because it really just helps the skin hydrate and retain its natural glow, making it naturally smooth and dewy! These green tea ones from Nature Republic have been my recent favorite because they’re so lightweight yet packed with moisture. Sheet masks are really the easiest and most affordable ways to give skin a little pick-me-up after a long week, don’t you think?

Nature Republic Hand&Nature Sanitizer in Orange and Peony

January is definitely one of the chilliest months in Los Angeles, and with the sudden shift in weather, there’s bound to be lots of people getting sick. Just earlier these past few weeks, almost every member of my team at work caught the bug, and everyone’s been coming in and out of the office, sneezing and coughing. Fortunately for me (knock on wood), it seems like the bug has skipped me this time, but I’m definitely not going to take the chance. Aside from my daily intake of Vitamin C to boost my immune system, I’ve also been keeping these little hand sanitizers within arm’s length, so I can kill all of the germs/bacteria that are around me before I get infected. I love the travel-sized version of these sanitizers because they fit so conveniently in my purse, so I can take them wherever I go! And best of all – these little sanitizers really pack so much scent, so my hands smell fragrant throughout the day!

Sephora Card Holder

This next item isn’t actually available for purchase, since it’s actually the gift card holder that comes with the purchase of a Sephora gift card. I didn’t really think much of this little zip-up pouch until my travels this past month. I was in search of a little pouch to keep my passport and important documents in, when I realized that everything fits perfectly inside of this! It’s so convenient to have all of your travel documents in one place, especially since things can get lost or misplaced easily at the airport!

The Couple Next Door by Shari Lapena

And of course, last but definitely not least, this has got to be one of my favorite books to date! I’ve always loved mysteries/thrillers, and this book definitely kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading it. The Couple Next Door revolves around a married couple, and one night, while they’re at their neighbor’s house for a dinner party, their unattended baby gets kidnapped. Throughout the course of the novel, the search for the couple’s baby girl ensues, but in the meanwhile, the events leads to the unraveling of long kept secrets. It’s bone-chilling and thrilling, and I breezed through the pages because it’s just too good to put down!

I hope you enjoyed this little round-up! 🙂 How was your January? And what were some of your favorites this past month? Let me know in the comments!
