Oh my, is it September already?!
I can’t believe August flew by in such a blur, and it’s already almost fall, though it feels nothing close to it here in Los Angeles due to the 100+ degree weather we’ve been getting on the regular 😛
It’s definitely been awhile since my last monthly favorites, since I haven’t had much time lately due to work to put together round-ups at the end of each month (but of course that’s no excuse). That’s why I’m back this month with a little list of my favorites for August! So without further ado, let’s get started! 🙂
From Rags to Wires Rustic Rose Choker and Pendant Choker
First up are these beautiful, handmade suede chokers that Vicky from Vicky’s Scrapbook put together 🙂 I love how simple and chic they are – they can instantly add the right touch of glam and femininity to any outfit. I’ve been styling these with just about everything that I’ve been wearing this summer, and I’m particularly fond of the Rose Gold Choker because it’s very bohemian chic, which matches beautifully with a lot of the romantic ensembles that are the perfect epitome of summer. If you love chokers as well, don’t hesitate to check out Vicky’s Etsy shop, From Rags to Wires, where she not only offers these pretty necklaces, but also a variety of other handmade jewelry pieces.
Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in 190 Bare Hug
Next up is this beautiful nude nail color from Sally Hansen. There’s just something about summer that makes me love wearing nude shades or pastel tones even more than usual, and I’ve definitely been reaching for this pretty nude almost every other week when I do my weekly at-home manicure. Not only is the color so pretty, I love how strong this formula makes me nails. As someone with fragile nails, finding a nail polish that also works double as a strengthener really makes a difference to me. If you also have brittle nails, you may want to give Sally Hansen’s Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear a try 🙂 Not only are there are large variety of pretty colors, the strengthening formula’s also an added bonus.
Irresistible Me Diamond Professional Ceramic Flat Iron
As seen from my post here, I’ve been a huge fan of this ceramic flat iron from Irresistible Me. It’s such a convenient heat styling tool to have because it can make my hair go from absolutely unbearable to completely presentable, all within ten minutes. I love how quickly it heats up too, and one of my favorite aspects of the iron is how lightweight it is, making it perfect for traveling 🙂 If you’re looking for a ceramic flat iron, definitely check out Irresistible Me, who not only specializes in high-quality heat styling tools, but also 100% natural Remy clip-in hair extensions, as well as hair accessories.
Wen by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint Anti-Frizz Styling Cream
Although I’ve been loving my new flat iron, all of the extra heat has definitely taken a bit of a toll on my long locks, so I’ve been trying a variety of different hair products lately, and I’ve fallen absolutely in love with Wen by Chaz Dean’s Sweet Almond Mint Anti-Frizz Styling Cream! It’s a super lightweight hair cream that smells very refreshing, and most important, it protects my hair without weighing it down at all. After I shower and towel dry my hair, I apply about a nickel size amount of this hair cream to the ends of my hair, massaging it on, so that it coats all of the strands. I’ve definitely noticed the positive improvements in my hair, such as lesser split ends, as well as faster hair growth 🙂
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
And last but definitely not least is my favorite book for this month (or more like these past few months)! I know what you’re thinking – finally! I know I used to have at least one book recommendation per month, but with all of the long hours that I’ve been clocking in at work, I’ve definitely not been reading as much as I used to. I’ve been really trying to make an effort to fit reading back in to my day, and of course, I just couldn’t resist a classic romance from Nicholas Sparks. Though I haven’t finished the book just yet, I’m really enjoying it so far because it’s an enjoyable read, and there’s nothing better than a romance novel during the summer, right? 🙂
I hope you all enjoyed my favorites for this month, especially because it’s definitely been awhile since my last monthly roundup 🙂 What were some of your favorites this month? And of the items that I’ve mentioned above, what are some that you also use/covet? Let me know in the comments below because you know I always love hearing from all of you! Wishing you all a lovely September ahead!
