So June gloom seemingly disappeared overnight in LA… It’s officially summer now, with steamy 100+ degree temperatures, blazing afternoon sunshine, and heat waves that wash over like a hot tidal wave!
Aside from going to places where my presence is required, such as work, I try to stay indoors at all times and avoid the heat because it’s just too hot to move. I mean, even breathing takes effort, and just sitting here is already making me sweat.
Despite my wish to be a couch potato and just stay at home on the hot weekends, though, sometimes there are just errands that I have to run or appointments that can’t be missed. But just because I have to be present doesn’t mean I can’t be a little late, right? 😉 Especially, if I’m “fashionably late” hahaha!
One of my favorite off-duty styles is a sporty, athleisure ensemble that’s both stylish and chic, but also super comfortable and easy to move around in! 🙂 My recent favorite is this long t-shirt dress that my boyfriend brought back for me from Taiwan. I love the cooling fabric so much because it’s perfect for the summer! Taiwan is known for its humid, hot, and sticky weather during the warmer months, so their clothing, no matter which brand, is always designed for both functionality and aesthetics in the summer heat 🙂
Rather than just leaving the t-shirt dress as is, I tied a plaid button down around my waist to not only give my waist more definition, but also to add a bit of color to the black-and-white ensemble. I also like how the plaid button gives the whole outfit more of chic, street style vibe.
I styled the t-shirt dress with a pair of comfortable fleece leggings that has a pair of stripes down one of the legs, helping to streamline the whole silhouette of the ensemble, and I added my favorite black and white cap and my Nikes to finish off the whole sporty look too!
And of course, I finished off the ensemble with my recent favorite handmade accessory from my best friend, Vicky from Vicky’s Scrapbook! 🙂 ❤ Isn’t this beautiful winged pendant choker so pretty and dainty? I love how it matches with almost everything that I wear!
