It may be spring, but in LA, we always get that one random chilly day despite the blazing sunshine and bright blue skies. On days like these, rather than feeling bummed that I can’t exactly break out my spring ensembles yet, I embrace the colder weather and give my chunky knits some last few wears before I have to store them away for good (at least until next fall and winter).
To wear these pieces as I did during the winter, though, may be a bit much, especially since the afternoons can get a bit warm, so I try to incorporate spring elements to the outfit to give it a little spring refresh.
I’ve been in love with this chunky cowl neck sweater dress from Tobi, a trendy online fashion boutique based in California that offers quality pieces that are inspired by Los Angeles’s very own relaxed, boho chic style. I love how all of their items are not only made of quality material, but the prices are also pretty reasonable as well! And for those of you who might be interested, Tobi offers first time customers 50% off their order!🙂
Now back to the outfit… Though it’s a pretty thick and chunky knit, complete with a cowl neck and long sleeves, this oversized sweater dress features a very sensual cut-out back, making it the perfect transitional piece. In the winter, I’d definitely pair this dress with some tights, but since it’s spring, I decided to wear it on its own for a more weather-appropriate look. Plus, I love how it looks so casual yet chic at the same time!
And since it’s spring already, I opted for a pair of suede ankle booties with a bit of a heel, to elongate my legs just a bit. I’ve been wearing these booties almost every other day lately because they’re not only comfortable, the neutral color makes it so easy to style with just about any outfit!
The whole ensemble is super cozy, perfect for those days where the weather is just being super fickle, and I love a comfortable piece like this can look so chic at the same time too!
