2 Early Spring Must-Haves

Happy Tuesday!

If you’re living in LA like me, then you must be feeling the effects of the early spring that we’re experiencing. You know what they say – April showers bring May flowers! And while it’s not exactly April yet, the rain has definitely been hitting Los Angeles generously in the past few days. Now that the storm is over, the sun is shining bright, and I’m pretty sure the days are going to start warming up really soon!

It really makes me wish I was still in school because March also signifies spring break. But no matter – I’ll just have to make the best out of the weekends, right?🙂 Time to hit as many beaches as I can and eat all of the ice cream that my stomach will allow me to!

On that note, there are 2 must-haves that I simply can’t live without during the spring – my trusty new favorite sunscreen spray and of course, a pair of super stylish sunglasses!

As you’ve probably seen from my February Favorites post, this Nature Republic Aqua Cooling Sun Spray has been my go-to for the last few weeks🙂 I love how lightweight it feels on the skin, and the fresh floral fragrance definitely reminds me so much of spring! It’s essential to wear sunscreen everyday, even if it’s gloomy outside because the harmful UV rays can penetrate through the clouds and cause your skin to age prematurely or develop dark spots, even if it looks like there’s not a ray of sunshine in the sky! This is why it’s so important to never leave the house without first protecting your skin.

Aside from sunscreen, though, the one essential that I absolutely cannot live without as we step into spring and summer are my sunglasses! I’ve always been a fan of aviators because they’re such a classic silhouette! And what’s best about aviators is the nose piece! Haha I’m not that genetically blessed in the nose bridge department, so glasses without a nose piece tend to slip right off my bridge and end up sitting against my cheekbones.

Although I love aviators so much, wearing only one style can be pretty limiting, which is why I was so happy to find these vintage-inspired half-frame sunglasses from Polette! The glasses are so pretty, with a metal half-frame and gold accents, making for such a classic yet minimalistic design, which is perfectly aligned with my personal style!

For those who don’t know about French eyeglasses and sunglasses brand Polette, it was started by the young and innovative entrepreneur Pierre Wizman. With his simple yet groundbreaking idea to bring quality frames to consumers for affordable prices, Wizman founded Polette and became one of the leading online opticians in the French market, offering eyewear pieces that are not only incredibly stylish, but also of high-quality!

I love how interactive their website is, allowing you to “try on” glasses by uploading a photo of yourself to test out different styles and frames. After much debate, I finally decided on these beautiful frames, and since it’s almost spring here in LA, I opted for sunglasses instead of prescription glasses🙂

Finding a pair of sunglasses that are not only stylish but that also offer full UV protection is essential, especially since the days are only going to be getting brighter and the sun more blazing.

And there you have my 2 early spring essentials! What are some of your must-haves for the warmer days? Let me know in the comments below!

And P.S. – please stay tuned because I’m going to be hosting a giveaway soon! More details will be coming up in my next post!🙂

  1. Only a few people are aware that we need protection all year long. The sun is actually more harmful during the cool seasons than in summer, right?🙂
I love your sunglasses from Polette, they’re dope! I myself also like to have a pair of shades when the days get warmer, that’s definitely a must-have item now!

    • Aww thank you so much Emily🙂 I’m glad you like these frames! Haha and no worries, I’m like you too – glasses with the nose pads are my life savior❤ Hope you enjoyed this post!

  3. I am not the best with protecting my skin from the sun (=using the sunscreen) but then again – no much of that here in the UK at the moment lol. I hope the showers are over soon and that you are going to enjoy rocking those beautiful sunnies more often. They are lovely!
Just like you, I would sometimes miss having a mid-term break or a spring break haha. Those days are so far behind though. Gotta make the best out of the weekends – same wavelength, hon🙂
Hope your week is going great!

    • Hahaha aww it’s okay, it’s going to be spring soon!🙂 And yes, the rain is over for now, but I heard we’re getting a bit more next week (I won’t complain though since LA’s been in such a bad drought). Can’t wait for the spring though🙂

Hahaha and yes, I definitely miss the midterm break so much, Nadia! But we’ll just try our best to make the most out of the weekends now❤ Love your positivity! Hope you're having a great week as well!

  4. I NEED to invest in a good pair of aviators!! I have a sunspot right above my eyebrow (I am 99% sure it’s from pregnancy tho cause it showed up shortly after I got prego!) So I need to start covering it so the sun doesn’t take a bigger toll on me!! I live in AZ so I totally am welcoming spring with open arms🙂
