3 Classic Lip Colors Every Girl Should Have

Oh lips… The choices are seemingly endless, aren’t they?

When it comes to lip colors, I’m definitely more of a lip tints kind of girl, as opposed to lipsticks. Lip tints always go on smoother, last longer, and are much lighter to me, which is why I prefer them since I usually lean towards a more natural everyday makeup look.

In this past year, though, I’ve started experimenting with more and more lipsticks because I’m a huge makeup junkie, and I just can’t resist adding more lip colors to my collection. And besides, makeup is all about experimentation, right? 🙂 This is why, today, I’ll be sharing with you some of my favorite lip colors that are perfect for those who are just starting their lipstick collection! So without further ado, let’s get started!

First up is none other than my all time favorite, the Dior Addict Lipstick in Shade 578 Diorkiss! For those of you who’ve been following me on my blog for a while now, you might remember me raving about it a few months ago here. The rich pink color is so feminine and elegant, and what I love the most about it is how great it matches with my skin tone! While I so think a classic red lip is super pretty, I find it really hard to find a shade that really suits my skin tone because I’m a little on the fair/pale side, so anything too bold or strong totally overpowers my whole look. This is why this beautiful pink Dior lipstick has been my favorite lipstick for the last year – it looks natural without being boring, and the pretty color is perfect for date night! 🙂 And plus, with such sleek packaging, who can resist, right?

Up next is this pretty baked dusty rose color (No. 216 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) from Marc Jacobs’ Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick collection. Despite its quirky and tongue-in-cheek name, it’s definitely a very classy and elegant color. It’s almost bordering a nude shade, but with a slightly more pink undertone, so it looks generally flattering on many skin tones. What’s even better is that its neutral hues will make it wearable in the spring as well! The formula is also so smooth and rich, and I love how it’s moisturizing for the lips as well, unlike many lipsticks on the market.

And of course, last but not least, is a classic red, and I’ve been experimenting lately with none other than No. 240 So Rouge from Marc Jacobs’ Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick collection, since I got it as a gift from Sephora as a part of my little Welcome to VIB Rouge Kit. Though I’m not exactly a huge fan of red lipsticks, I do have to agree that every girl should have at least one tube of red lipstick at her disposal because you never know when you need it, right? 😉 And plus, red is such a classic, pretty color (when you find the right shade for yourself, of course). Though this color is definitely more suited for my fair skin tone, I do find it a little overpowering still. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I think red lips always make me appear older than I really am, or maybe it’s because I haven’t found the right one yet? Haha but I’ll definitely be experimenting some more to try to find the perfect shade for me!

And that’s my 3 current favorite/most used lipsticks 🙂 I hope this post was helpful for those of you who are starting your lipstick collection! Let me know what your favorite colors are down below! And if you’re fair/pale as well, which red shade would you recommend? I’d love to hear your suggestions!
