Brrrrr! Is it just me, or are these January winds sharper and colder than I remembered? Every year after I’ve had time to wind down from all of the holiday festivities, I finally realize how chilly it actually is, not just when I’m out and about, but also when I’m in bed at night.
That’s why I’ve teamed up with luxury bedding brand Crane & Canopy to share with you all how I prep my bedroom for the colder months. It’s important to stay warm and cozy at home, especially when you’re sleeping, because that’s the one time during the day that you can feel completely at ease and comfortable in order to recharge for the next day.
If you haven’t heard of Crane & Canopy yet, it’s the perfect time to check out their wonderful site and blog! Conceived with the belief that everyone deserves the best night of sleep, Crane & Canopy readily meets their mission through their array of innovative, beautiful, and high-quality bedding items.
Starting with the most basic layering piece for the bed, I begin with sheets. I never knew much about thread coat, but Crane & Canopy’s website offers a really thorough and insightful look into the theory behind thread count, and I’m keeping their tips in mind as I shop for some new sheets for the winter season.
One of my favorites is the Coral Morning Glory Sheet Set, with its beautiful pattern in a warm coral color. It really sets the tone and brightens up any cold room on a winter day. Made with 100% cotton and boasting 300 thread count, this sheet set is the perfect choice for the first step in updating the bedroom for the chillier months ahead.
But of course, in order to stay warm, sheets alone aren’t going to protect you from the cold. Other than using my normal comforter and duvets, quilts and shams are also so functional, particularly in the winter, and I’m loving both the Diamond Box-Stitch Light Grey Quilt & Sham, as well as the Reversible Pick-Stitch Charcoal Grey Quilt & Sham.
While the Light Grey version is full of artful details due to the detailed diamond and box-stitched quilting, geometric shapes, and texture, the Reversible version provides versatility de to its dual-colored fabrics. Both of these quilts are hand-quilted from 100% premium and breathable cotton with 100% cotton fill, making it not only a practical choice for the winter, but also a suitable alternative even as the days get warmer.
And if these quality quilts aren’t enough, it definitely helps to have a throw to add some extra warmth and layers to your bedding. While I’m normally a fleece throw blanket kind of girl, this Large Cable Knit Throw from Crane & Canopy really caught my eye because the thick and luxurious cable knit braided pattern just screams coziness.
And last but definitely not least, I like to incorporate sweet and inviting scents to warm up my bedroom space. My current favorite is this Vanilla Snowflake one from Bath & Body Works because it’s such a delectable blend of creamy vanilla and wintry mint.
I hope you all enjoyed these little tips on how to update and prep your bedroom for the colder months! Because I live in Southern California, our winters aren’t extremely cold, so I’m usually fine with a comforter, duvet, or quilt, and if it really gets super chilly, then a fleece or throw blanket will definitely do. How do you all stay warm at home during the winter? I’d love to hear how all of you decorate your bedroom space as well!

This is a beautiful way to prep a bedroom! I’m loving the coral sheets and patterns! Winters in Texas are hot and then cold, the weather is super bipolar haha. But it doesn’t get extremely cold here either! Usually a comforter is enough to keep me warm 🙂

I went on the site and love the vibe Crane & Canopy’s brings, wish I can cuddle in one of this dreamy bedroom and wake up feeling that’s my morning glory!
It’s so cold in Taipei these days and with not having indoor heater, we are like popsicle in freezer. I’m always awe how Taipei people brave the winter weather.
Thanks this post in warming me and my laptop a bit! 😀
