1. If you had to design your own gala dress, how would it be (color and style)?
For a formal event, such as a gala, I believe a formal, floor-length dress would be the perfect ensemble to exude just the right amount of grace, elegance, and subtle confidence and sexiness.
For dresses like these, I tend to lean towards strapless numbers, though I’m genuinely swayed by Nina Dobrev’s strappy ivory ensemble, Blake Lively’s classy deep red piece in the Age of Adaline, and Girls Generation’s Seohyun’s gorgeous white gown on the red carpet of KBS’s 2014 Gayo Chukjae celebration.
As for color choice, I prefer more neutral tones, such as white, ivory, silver, or gold, as they’re softer, more romantic and delicate, which matches my personality (though the occasional deep wine red, violet, or emerald is so majestic and exudes so much poise and confidence).
Despite all of these references, though, if I were given the chance to design my own dress, I would want it to be a white floor-sweeping, strapless number. With a fitted upper body that’s adorned with small pearlescent beads across the bodice, the top would be completed with a simple string of slightly larger jewels discreetly decorating the waistline. The skirt of the dress should flare out dramatically with sheets of white lace and feathering details to adorn layers of taffeta.
I’ve always liked simple and effortlessly beautiful dresses because the understated ensemble will not overpower the wearer, but rather, add just the right air of elegance and confidence. This dress will no doubt make me feel like a princess, and I think every girl, no matter how old, has once dreamed of being a princess, if only just for one day 🙂
2. Which is your favorite daily lip shade? Why?
My current favorite daily lip shade is Aritaum’s Honey Melting Tint in No. 09 Peach Crumble. Tints are so much more long lasting that traditional lipsticks, and they’re definitely not as sticky as lip glosses.
Plus, I love how soft they make my lips look 🙂
While lipsticks are definitely bolder, I prefer lip tints because they make me look a lot younger and add just the right amount of color to my lips.
Orangey/peachy lip colors are very popular in Korea right now, and I can definitely see why! 🙂 They’re not as traditionally classy as red, but not as flirty and girly as pink. Orange/peach gives off a more fun vibe, perfect for the summer!
3. Is there an accessory you always make sure to wear? Which is this?
I wear these three items before I leave the house everyday 🙂
4. Do you remove your makeup before going to sleep? If not, what are the reasons? If yes, which product do you like using?
Yes, of course!
I can’t stress this enough whenever I talk to my friends/acquaintances about makeup and skincare, and if baffles me that some people think it’s an optional step! It actually doesn’t really hurt your skin too much to wear makeup everyday, as long as you remove it properly, but if you don’t, this could lead to breakouts, clogged pores, and just bad hygienic practices in the long run! D:
I follow a very strict makeup removing routine, which consists of Neutrogena’s Makeup Removing Wipes, Neutrogena’s Eye Makeup Remover, Biore’s Makeup Removing Oil, and Innisfree’s Green Tea Cleansing Foam.
Makeup wipes aren’t sufficient removers, but they’re very convenient and easy to use, so if you’re too lazy or come home late, at least use one of these for the sake of your skin 🙂 It’ll thank you, I promise!
I always have these in my bathroom, and I actually use them everyday as a kind of pre-cleansing step, where I swipe it gently across my face to remove my makeup.
I follow that up with eye makeup remover, which I will distribute onto cotton pads, to clean up my eyeliner and mascara.
Following the cotton pads, I like to go in with soaked Q-tips to really get into the areas between my lashes to make sure everything is really off.
After that, I take just one pump of cleansing oil and massage it into my skin for about one or two minutes to make sure everything is cleaned out of my pores before following up with a thorough rinse.
Lastly, I’m a big advocate of the double cleanse, so I finish off my cleansing routine with my daily cleansing foam. That’s how I get my skin squeaky clean so that it’ll be able to absorb all of the beneficial skincare products I’ll treat it with before I go to sleep 🙂
5. When you go to buy your shoes, do you base your choice on feet comfort or aesthetics?
I used to base my choices on aesthetics, but in the recent years, I really want to take better care of myself, so I’m now basing my purchases on comfort.
6. Which perfume would you choose to wear for a date night?
I absolutely adore Versace Bright Crystal, as it’s such a fresh and sensual blend of iced accord, yuzu, and pomegranate mingled with soothing blossoms of peony, magnolia, and lotus flower. It’s a very lightly, floral scent that’s sure to leave a very sweet impression.
7. Which clothing item best describes your personality?
The clothing item that best describes my personality is definitely a pair of skinny blue jeans because they’re original, versatile, simple, yet completely chic.
I enjoy a chic style that utilizes simple pieces with intricate details. I think fashion is a way of self-expression, letting us embody our personalities in a visual yet artistic way. Outfits that are grounded by quality denim showcases a casual yet chic style, giving even the most basic pieces a trendy flair.
Likewise, with a nice pair of good quality jeans, we’ll always have a long lasting wardrobe staple that’ll last very long, and even if we’re just wearing our most simple outfits, they can make us feel and look good. I’ve always been an introvert, so oftentimes, when I’m with a big group of friends, I tend to be the one who’s always the listener because I’m happy just being there for my friends.
Just like skinny blue jeans, which are such a reliable and sturdy clothing item, I’m always there for the people in my life when they need me, dependable and loyal.
